Solo Performance
To make my solo work I blend a contemporary kind of clowning with pop-philosophy to create comedic-dramatic-weird-and-wonderful shows that explore my experience of the world.
Sparked by an initial idea and a moment of confidence, the things I make either take me years or days to pull off, either working in complete isolation or through robust bouts of collaboration with designers, directors, producers, communities and other artists.
Themes I am always keen to explore: Masculinity, mental health, fame, the climate crisis and partying.
I spend time thinking about how live-experiences give us the opportunity to have something real and unexpected happen to us, and how within solo performance this energy is captured through the relationship created by the character and the audience.

Solo Performance
To make my work as a director I blend devising, movement and "serious" play to create ensemble-led shows that are absurdist, raucous and defined by the people that make them, and the places in which they're made.
Sparked by a room full of performers and a shared moment of bravery, the things I direct connect all participants to the ownership and co-authorship of the central idea, then rely heavily on each participant to understand their input and create their own offers to the work.
Themes I am always keen to explore: Community, wellness, the climate crisis, landscapes and joy.
I spend time thinking about how live-experiences give us the opportunity to have something real and unexpected happen to us, and how within ensemble work this energy is captured through the relationships created between performers, and the invitation that extends to the audience to join the riot.
